Piece Pro

Beginning to Edit in Pro Tools
You will see a timer at the top of the screen. This marks the time of the audio track. Wherever you click on your track, there will be a flashing cursor so you will know where you are on your track at all times. If at any time you press return, the play head will always go back to the beginning of your project and play it.
Click the selector tool and select the part before your first piece of audio begins. If you have unwanted sound at the beginning of your project that you would like to remove, just click, hold and drag your audio over the unwanted section. To allow your audio to be dragged around, you have to activate the slip key so that you can drag your track along the timeline.
Regions are different sections of a sound file in Pro Tools. To split your audio into different regions, use the selector tool and click wherever you want to split your track. There will be blue markers above the timeline where you have split the audio into regions. When the audio has been split into regions, you can move or delete the different regions.
If you have recorded audio with out using a pop filter, you will find that your recordings are full of pops and sometimes annoying pauses. To remove these, zoom into your audio and delete the sections with the unwanted noises, being careful not to delete any important parts of your audio.
To create a stereo track and to work in stereo, click file, create a new track, and select stereo track and name it music. Drag a stereo track from the audio bin and into a stereo track on the time line. If a track is in stereo, there will be a 1 and r below it. The track will be split into two small sections both of which represent a channel of stereo.
To add markers to make a note of places that need editing, click on a point on your track and press the enter key. When the dialog box appears, you can name your marker and click ok. To add markers to a piece of audio that you want to delete, insert markers either side of the piece of audio that you want to delete.

How do you cut out a piece of sound in Sony Vegas Pro 9 with cutting out the video?
I know how to cut out pieces but what about just sound, and leave the video? I'm kind of new to Vegas so this might be pretty obvious but I don't yet know it
click where and what you want to seperate and press "S" on your keyboard
