Should I get sterilized?
I am seriously considering getting sterilized (tubes tied or something like that). My husband really wants children, but I feel like I can never be 100% that I'll be ready for it, because I've never been 100% sure about any decision I've ever made. My husband does not like using condoms, and I have a severe reaction to hormonal contraceptives. So I feel it would be out of my best interest to get sterilized. I do not want to abstain from sex because it would be bad for our marriage, but I am unsure about kids even though in my heart I really wish I could have them. I feel bad, however, because when my husband and I got married he knew he wanted to have children with me. Should I get my tubes tied or is this a bad idea? Would it be better to do this for the sake of our sex life?
I think if you want kids deep down and your husband wants them, you should have them. You will never be 100% ready for them, ever. If your husband wants kids, tying your tubes and never having them will hurt your marriage just as much as abstaining from sex will.
You want them, he wants them. Go for it.
